What next? Catastrophes – large and small, global and personal – are omnipresent. With its expertise in the field of disasters, literature can explore these depths. What can be done to help? How do we carry on? In his writing, Jonas Lüscher describes social and personal catastrophes and breakdowns, and, as a citizen, seeks to discover how societies and their democratic institutions can strengthen their resistance against populism – a catastrophe with its own inner structures. Katrin Meyer is a philosopher who examines questions of power, democracy and the public will. Together with our guests, and in dialogue with the audience, we will attempt to find some answers. Refreshments will be offered in the breaks, and there will be time to explore and enjoy the monastery and landscape.
