International Poetry Festival Basel

The International Poetry Festival Basel is an annual event held (usually) at the end of January and is unique in that it allows poets from Basel to invite guests from Switzerland and abroad to read from their works and offer an insight into contemporary poetry. Its offers a wide-ranging programme intended for a broad audience. In addition to readings by contemporary poets, the festival also offers writing workshops for schoolchildren and aspiring poets. One important topic of discussion is the relationship between poetry and other arts and disciplines. A particular highlight of the festival is the award of the Basel Poetry Prize, which is kindly donated by GGG.
