Podium: War against women. With Sultan Yaray and Pegah Ahmadi
Governments in Iran and Kurdistan are waging war against their own people, primarily, and in particular, against women. Sultan Yaray lives in Amed (Diyarbakir) as a poet writing in Kurdish. She has currently published two volumes of poetry. Pegah Ahmadi, born in Teheran, made a name for herself in Iran as a translator and poet. In 2009, she went into exile in Germany. They will both read from their work and discuss the situation in their respective homelands.
This event is part of the INTERNATIONAL POETRY FESTIVAL BASEL
