Hevin Karakurt is a researcher in the German department at the University of Basel. In her Master’s thesis ‘Kî ne em? – Who are we? Representations of Kurdish identity in contemporary German literature’, she examines questions of subjectivity, identity and the representational possibilities of subaltern positions, as well as how to update concepts of ‘migration literature’, ‘national literature’ and ‘world literature’.
