CATALIN DORIAN FLORESCU (*1967 in Temesvar) spent his childhood under a communist dictatorship. In 1982, his family succeeded in leaving for the West. His novels – including «Wunderzeit», «Jacob beschließt zu lieben», and «Der Mann, der das Glück bringt» – (Time of Wonders; Jacob Decides to Love; The Man Who Brings Happiness) – have received numerous awards, among them the Swiss Book Prize. He lives in Zurich.
