Amanda Michalopoulou (*1966 in Athens) has authored eight novels and three volumes of short stories. She was an editor with Kathimerini in Greece and for the Tagesspiegel in Berlin. Her stories and essays have been translated into twenty languages and she is the recipient of numerous international prizes. Her first novel to be translated into German was the Octopus Garden (1999).
