DANIEL SCHREIBER

Times of Loss

Literaturhaus Basel

Following on from his bestseller “Alone”, Daniel Schreiber takes a look at an experience that has a significant impact on our lives and exposes our limits like virtually no other: the loss of certainty and what for so long seemed like ineluctable truths. Inspired by his personal experience of the death of his father, he analyses our private and societal ability to mourn – and seeks ways to deal with a feeling that often overwhelms us. “When you read a book by Daniel Schreiber, afterwards you look at your own life through different eyes.” (Fatma Aydemir)

The VorLaut-Readings offer young authors a stage on which to read their texts in front of established authors, in a way similar to supporting acts in music.
