The Ahmadou-Kourouma Prize, named after the distinguished author from the Côte d’Ivoire, is awarded for a work of fiction, whose spirit of independence, clarity and foresight is in accord with the literary and humanist heritage of Kourouma. It is awarded annually by the Geneva Salon du Livre. The freshly chosen prize winner will be in Basel to offer us an insight into the current literature of sub-Saharan Africa.

The prize winner is Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse
