Kamel Daoud

KAMEL DAOUD (*1970 in Mostaganem, Algeria) worked for many years as a journalist. In 2014, after his critical articles in Algeria resulted in threats, he went into exile in France. His debut novel, The Meursault Investigation, was widely acclaimed and awarded the Prix Goncourt for First Novel, among other honours. His latest novel, “Huris”, which is banned in Algeria, earned him the prestigious Prix Goncourt.
