Judith Schalansky

JUDITH SCHALANSKY (*1980 in Greifswald) studied art history and communication design and now lives in Berlin, working as a freelance writer and book designer. Both her “Atlas of Remote Islands” (Atlas der abgelegenen Insel) and the novel “The Giraffe’s Neck” (Der Hals der Giraffe) were named “Most Beautiful German Book” by the German Foundation for Book Art. In 2018, she was awarded the Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize for her work “An Inventory of Losses” (Verzeichnis einiger Verluste). Since spring 2013, she has been the editor of the acclaimed Natural Histories series.
