Helene Hegemann

Helene Hegemann (*1992) lives in Berlin. Her debut novel “Axolotl Roadkill” was published in 2010 and has been translated into 20 languages. The film adaptation, which she directed herself, received an award at the 2017 Sundance Festival. In 2013, she published her second novel “Jage zwei Tiger”, followed by “Bungalow” in 2018, which was nominated for the German Book Prize. In 2022, her short story collection “Schlachtensee” was published. She directs works for opera, theatre, and film.
