ASLI ERDOĞAN (*1967 in Istanbul) is a critically acclaimed author and columnist. Her literary works (including ‘The City in Crimson Cloak’ and ‘The Stone Building’) have been translated into more than 20 languages. In 2016, following the failed military putsch in Turkey, Aslı Erdoğan along with 22 other journalists was arrested and held in detention for months. Erdoğan lives in exile in Germany.
