Mimicry
Sofa Reading with Tim Altermatt
This event will be held in German.
Milo is in crisis. His beloved job at “Drittel” is on the line. The small record store, a last bastion of nostalgia and home to countless rock albums has for long stubbornly resisted the lure of trendy lifestyle fads and musical currents like techno and house. But now, gentrification threatens to shut it down for good.
For Milo, who loves not only his job but also Mara, the owner’s daughter, the way ahead is clear: he must save “Drittel”. The fact that he has to enlist the help of none other than his archnemesis Dave, owner of the rival store, is just the beginning of a series of complications. “Mimicry” is a warm, witty novel about the pitfalls of growing up and a tribute to music surviving outside the mainstream.
