SEASON OPENING

with Mina Hava, Klaus Merz and Laura Wohnlich

Literaturhaus Basel

With Apéro!

We have three completely different voices to herald the start of the new season. In her third novel “Power“, the Basel author Laura Wohnlich writes “sadly and funnily, wittily and with psychological sophistication“ (SRF) about our time, in which clicks and likes count for more than (almost) anything else, and in which people will stop at nothing for a moment of fame.

Mina Hava will also be there. In her thought-provoking and well-received debut novel, she writes about her broken, Bosnian family and the scars left by the almost forgotten Bosnian war: “whoever she can write like this, can write about anything (…) and has a great future ahead”, wrote Paul Jandl in the NZZ.

And the great master of the short form reads from his latest volume of new poems and short stories “Noch Licht im Haus” (There is Still Light in the House), which tell a story in the space of a few lines. In between Francisco Bürgi will entertain with guitar music.

Why not visit the Theaterplatz Day before the season opens. Every first Thursday of the month, the "Theaterplatz-Quartier" association offers a cultural programme, food and a host of surprises.
