SERHIJ ZHADAN (*1974 in the Luhansk region) made his debut as a 17 year old and has published twelve volumes of poetry and seven works of prose, most recently ‘The Orphanage’ (2018) and ‘Sky above Kharkiv’ (2022). He has received numerous awards, including the Hannah-Arendt-Prize for political thought 2022 and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade 2022. Zhadan lives in Kharkiv.
