Ronya Othmann

RONYA OTHMANN (*1993 in Munich) has a German mother and a Kurdish-Yazidi father. She writes poetry, prose and essays, and works as a journalist. She has received many awards for her writing including the MDR-Literature Prize and the Caroline-Schlegel-Prize for Essay Writing. For “The Summer”, her first novel, she received the Mara-Cassens-Prize in 2020. An excerpt from “Seventy-Four” was awarded the Audience Award of the Ingeborg-Bachmann-Competition in 2019.
